Sterling Insurance Group is a minority and woman-owned independent insurance agency, founded and led by principal Libby Soo Hoo and partner Rich Soo Hoo. Libby brings her leadership and deep knowledge of island insurance markets; Rich, a Chinese American, brings a perspective shaped by the same values of community, family, hard work, and inclusion that define Martha's Vineyard at its best.
We're proud to operate on Martha's Vineyard — one of New England's most culturally rich and diverse communities — and to serve clients who reflect the full range of people who call this island home.

Martha's Vineyard Chamber of Commerce
Sterling Insurance Group is a proud member of the Martha's Vineyard Chamber of Commerce, which supports the economic health of businesses across Aquinnah, Chilmark, Edgartown, Oak Bluffs, Vineyard Haven, and West Tisbury.
Vineyard Montessori School
We actively support Vineyard Montessori School, the island's largest provider of early childhood care and education and the only independent school on Martha's Vineyard serving children from 15 months through Grade 8. As a nonprofit that serves working island families — with more than half of enrolled families receiving tuition assistance — VMS relies on community partners like Sterling to help keep its programs accessible to all.
Island Non-Profits & Community Events
We regularly participate in and support fundraisers and community events across the island, including multiple years of sponsoring the Oak Bluffs Pride Parade. From LGBTQ+ celebrations to local non-profit fundraisers, we show up for the causes and organizations that make Martha's Vineyard a welcoming place for everyone.

Our office at 31 Beach Road in Vineyard Haven is a welcoming place for every client — regardless of background, origin, or circumstance. We work with homeowners, renters, business owners, and families across the island and beyond.
